A new affordable IPS monitor with FreeSync, the Philips 278E9

It covers 93% of the chromatic range for 200 euros.

VESA 100x100

Philips has introduced the latest inclusion to its E9 line of consumer monitors, the 278E9, which offers a 27-inch high-quality curved IPS Full HD panel and covers 93% of the NTSC color gamut. This translates into more intense reds and blue ones deeper than those that showed their previous versions (in the absence of HDR, of course). Besides, it has a maximum brightness of 250 cd / m2 and is compatible with AMD's FreeSync technology. The bad thing is that Philips has not specified the range of the variable refresh rate. It is expected to be between 50 and 75 Hz, but it is not an official data.

VESA 100x100

If we look behind the monitor, we find VGA, DisplayPort, and HDMI inputs, so it has plenty of compatibility for computers and consoles, and we can also see two lower speakers of 3 W. On the other hand, if you have your monitors mounted on arms or wall brackets, bear in mind that it is compatible with the VESA 100x100 standard . The series support, by the way, can be tilted between -5 and 20 degrees. Finally, it should be noted that thanks to its thin frame design, it is quite suitable for multi-screen configurations. Apart from this good collection of features, the best data is its price: 200 euros.
