Dying Light 2 map will be 4 times larger than the first title

The writer of The Witcher: Wild Hunt works on the Techland project

Dying Light 2 was one of the surprises revealed in E3 2018. Techland wants this sequel to be spectacular for those who enjoyed the first installment, so it works to create a more complete and impactful experience at all levels.

Dying Light 2 will take us 15 years after what happened in the original title. We know that the narrative of the game will not unfold in the fictional city of Harran and will tell us the story of one of the last groups of human survivors.

Tymon Smektala, the title designer, said that Dying Light 2 will have all the updated sections, so players will notice the improvements instantly. There will be optimizations in the combat system, in crafting, in the skills and so on.

Smektala noted that the way the players will move will be more polished. So, you will find new movements and ways to take advantage of the environments thanks to the mechanics of parkour.

As for the game world, Dying Light 2 promises to be really ambitious. According to Smektala, the title will have a world 4 times larger than the first title. Techland will take advantage of all its technology to give players an immersive experience with an outstanding graphics aspect.

The writing Chris Avellone, known for Fallout: New Vegas and The Witcher: Wild Hunt, works to give more impact to the narrative of the game. Especially since it will include new options where we can negotiate at different times to avoid conflicts or obtain some additional benefits.

On the other hand, Smektala highlighted the presence of changes between day and night. "Things will get a lot more terrifying, it's not just a zombie game, it's a game about humans and the horror they can cause, Dying Light 2 will give you more options to play with that horror."

Finally, Smektala commented that the first game still has a large base of active players. Hence, seek to maintain the flow and increase it for the arrival of the sequel.

Dying Light 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
