The company is ready for the launch of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary

The upcoming release of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection has been the ideal pretext for Capcom to resume the history of the franchise and show its evolution throughout all these years and in its different deliveries. On this occasion, the new retrospective video gives us a brief review of the history and development of Street Fighter Alpha.

The new chapter of the retrospective realized by Capcom to celebrate the arrival of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is dedicated to Street Fighter Alpha, subseries that debuted in 1995 and was a breath of fresh air for the franchise and players who wanted something beyond the Street Fighter II reviews. Street Fighter Alpha was clearly influenced by the style of play and art of Darkstalkers (1994) and X-Men: Children of the Atom (1994), in addition to fulfilling the wishes of fans who had enjoyed the animated film Street Fighter II : The Animated Movie (1994) and wanted to see that kind of art reflected in a series delivery.

Street Fighter Alpha was a subseries built from the ground up, with new fighting styles, different combat speeds, a new story and character offerings. In that sense, the story of Alpha allowed fill the gaps and dispel some doubts about the facts of Street Fighter II, in addition, to clarify the relationship of the series with the universe of Final Fight, which at one time was considered a sequel to Street Fighter and was called Street Fighter'89.



Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will debut on May 29 on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
