Yoko Taro is already thinking about his next project

The creative contemplates a new IP and would like to do something about King's Knight

In the industry it is known that the end of a project is the beginning of another one because for developers it is vital, for creative and financial reasons, to continue materializing new adventures. After the success obtained by NieR: Automata, Yoko Taro, its peculiar director, has become a recognized figure and although he has not stopped thanking the achievements, he is already thinking about his next step.

During the PAX East 2018 event, Yoko Taro spoke with DualShockers about what comes after NieR: Automata and, in that sense, the creative surprised with his statements. At the beginning, the creative mentioned that, generally, he does not usually think about what will follow after a project ends and does not consider the creation of new intellectual properties. However, this does not happen in all cases and, interestingly, Yoko Taro revealed that he has begun to think about a new IP and what he has to do to make it happen. In that sense, the director of NieR: AutomataHe made it clear that this does not mean that the development of a new IP is a fact and although he assured that everything related to it is kept secret, it contemplates high chances that it will not happen.

Later, Yoko Taro revealed that in case that the work with a new IP was not specified and he was given to choose one of those belonging to Square Enix, he would select something related to King's Knight because he likes the shooter genre. In case you do not know, King's Knight was the first game released in North America by Square and his label, which at the time we knew as Squaresoft. This hybrid of shooter and action RPG, with perspective from above, debuted on NES and MSX in 1986 and put us in control of 4 selectable heroes, with the aim of saving Princess Claire of Althea.
