Far Cry 5 sold about 5 million copies in its first week

The firm Jeffries Group shared its initial sales forecast

Ubisoft recently revealed that Far Cry 5 is already its second most successful release, just behind The Division. In addition, the company noted that the title had twice the initial sales compared to Far Cry 4. Despite this, he did not offer exact figures of Far Cry 5 sales performance.

Given this, the firm Jeffries Group shared an estimated number of copies sold based on their records. According to the company, Far Cry 5 sold approximately 5 million copies in its first week available in the market.

The analyst Tim O'Shea determined that the success of titles like Fortnite would dull the arrival of new AAA games, among them Far Cry 5. The truth is that the good reception of the game indicates the opposite.

So that you have a clearer idea of the success of the new delivery, you should know that Far Cry 4 sold about 8 million units in its first year. Far Cry 5 came pretty close to that figure in just 7 days.

A few days after its release, the game had already sold 588,935 units on Steam alone. His great performance in sales in the United Kingdom and Japan undoubtedly contributed to the copies sold on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will reach that figure.

It must be made clear that the Jeffries Group data is not official. For this reason, the amount indicated could be lower or even higher. We will have to wait for Ubisoft to share additional information about it.

The company wants more players interested in its title, so it prepared the first event with some special challenges. As if that were not enough, the game received some performance and stability improvements on PC, which will later reach consoles.

Far Cry 5 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
