Technology - Amazon removes its own portable batteries due to fire risk

The company received 53 reports of overheating. In the USA UU, There was a case of a chemical burn.

Amazon announced that it will recall six of the portable batteries that are part of its AmazonBasics brand. The company made this decision after receiving 53 reports of overheating, which could indicate a future risk of fire.

In fact, the Consumer Product Safety Commission in the United States (CPSC) received a complaint of chemical burns from contact with battery acid and four more reports of property damage, generated by fire and smoke.

The affected battery models are B00LRK8EVO, B00LRK8HJ8, B00LRK8I7O, B00LRK8IV0, B00LRK8JDC or B00ZQ4JQAA. 

The CPSC recalled that this numeral is on the back of each unit and requested that they are disconnected immediately from the power outlets. The problem affects its portable lithium-ion batteries of 2,000, 5,600, 10,000 and 16,100 mAh. The micro USB cable of 3,000 mAh is also part of the list. 

The batteries were sold on the Amazon.com company website from December 2014 to July 2017 at a cost of between $ 9 and $ 40.

Amazon is reporting this situation to all affected users via email and announced that it will return the money. The company also enabled a website where users can enter their data to begin the return process.
