Games News - There will be organizational changes at Sony Interactive Entertainment

Layden will focus on working for SIE Worldwide Studios

Through a press release, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that an organizational transformation is approaching the company as part of a strategy with which it seeks to strengthen its business and operations force. These changes will be effective as of April 1, 2018.

The main novelty is that in an attempt to ensure "coordination between organizations and support functions that are supervised locally," John Kodera, president and CEO of SIE and Jim Ryan, current marketing manager of Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe and vice president SIE will have new executive positions, so Kodera will be responsible for America and Asia, while Ryan will take care of Europe.

In addition, Jim Ryan will serve as supervisor of the marketing and sales divisions of Sony Interactive Entertainment America, Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia. In a nutshell, these teams will report directly to him.

That's not all, since Shawn Layden, current president of SIEA, will step aside to focus on SIE Worldwide Studios, the company's branch that focuses on bringing games to PlayStation. With this, SIE seeks to fulfill its mission to "create and develop the most attractive and powerful first-party titles".

Finally, Sony announced that Phil Rosenberg will remain as the new head of relations with third-party studies, while Hideaki Nishino will be the new head of platform planning and administration.
