EA could be working on an open-world Star Wars title

It is possible that it is a reboot of the game in which Visceral Games worked

Electronic Arts are working on a new open-world Star Wars title, or at least that's what a job offer indicates. The most interesting thing is that it seems to be the new direction of the project that, until last year, was under development at Visceral Games.

The job offer appeared on the official Electronic Arts job board. There he points out that it is a vacancy for the position of online engineer and that the chosen candidate will have the responsibility of "having a team deliver online features for an open-world Star Wars project." It also indicates that the candidate must have experience implementing online features such as "matchmaking, asynchronous operation interactions, live services, server migration" and more.

The reason why we mentioned that it could be the reboot of the Visceral Games project is that the vacancy is to work at EA Vancouver. In case you do not know, the Canadian-based studio took the reins of this project after the closure of Visceral Games. In addition, the job description seems to indicate that it is a game as a service.

It is important to note that, at the time of writing this note, Electronic Arts has not commented on it. We will keep an eye on you and inform you if more details about this project or the job offer arise.

We take advantage of the fact that we talked about Star Wars to tell you that conceptual art has recently been leaked that shows us some of the ideas that were for Star Wars: Battlefront IV. On the other hand, recently the developers of Rebel Galaxy showed a game of Star Wars that they wanted to develop, but it was not accepted by EA.
