Games News - You can now get skins and other prizes for watching the Overwatch League

The promotion is available on Twitch

Shortly before the start of the Overwatch League, it was announced that Blizzard and Twitch signed an agreement for the transmission rights of the tournament. Back then, the companies pointed out that fans who saw the competition for Twitch would have the opportunity to get rewards for seeing it. If you were waiting for this promotion, you will be happy to know that it will start today with the second stage of the Overwatch League.

According to the official announcement , an important part of this promotion will be based on Overwatch League Cheering, a system with which you can use Bits to encourage your favorite team. By using them, you will have the opportunity to work with the community to meet certain goals and unlock outfits that are not yet available in the game. In addition, there will be leader boards for you to discover if you are among the fans that support the most with Bits. Keep in mind that the money raised by this means will be used to "support the partnership" between Blizzard and Twitch.

That's not all, since you can also unlock exclusive Overwatch emotes to use on Twitch. As you can see, these are nice portraits of the Overwatch heroes :

If you are not willing to pay to get these rewards, you will be happy to know that there are other ways to get some of them. The first thing you should do is link your Battle.net account with the Twitch account and then watch a match from start to finish. After the game, a percentage of the audience will receive 100 League Tokens that can be redeemed for content in the Overwatch League store. In addition, you will receive 1 Token for each map you have seen.

Keep in mind that the Overwatch League transmissions on Twitch are just taking their first steps and both companies are preparing more news. Among them is a VIP ticket for the audience to have access to more content about the league - such as videos behind the scenes - and receive more objects.

Finally, it is important to note that this promotion is not yet available worldwide and for the moment it is only valid in Argentina, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden , Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States. It is expected that in the future it will expand to other nations.
