Games News - SEGA launched Yakuza 6 free by accident

The demo allowed to play the full title

The demo of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life arrived yesterday at the PlayStation Store . The file weighed more than 30 GB, which was strange considering that it was only a trial version, however, everything began to make sense when the players realized that it was the complete game.

SEGA wanted the demo to stop at a certain point, with the possibility of buying an unlock code for anyone who wanted to continue playing. But there was an error, so the fans realized that the studio had put the complete game for free, as they could advance after where it was supposed to end the trial version, getting trophies in their wake.

For this reason, the Yakuza 6 demo left the PlayStation Store quickly. SEGA realized the mistake and eliminated the game from the North American store. Meanwhile, in Europe and Australia everything was in order from the beginning.

"We apologize, but we had to eliminate the demo of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life from the PlayStation Store, we are as upset as you and we hope to have this demo available for everyone at some time this day," SEGA said in his account. official Twitter. "We discovered that some could use this demo to unlock the whole game, we are investigating the nature of the problem, thank you for your patience.

The demo is still offline, but as soon as I return to the PlayStation Store we will let you know. On the other hand, SEGA did not explain what will happen to the players that downloaded this demo, nor did it say whether it will be possible for them to keep their progress until the launch of the game.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will debut on April 7 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
